Coagulation and Flocculation: In this step, chemicals are added to the water to make small particles clump together and form larger particles called floc.
Sedimentation: The floc settles to the bottom of the tank and is removed from the water.
Filtration: Water is passed through layers of sand, gravel, and charcoal to remove any remaining particles and impurities.
Disinfection: Chlorine or other disinfectants are added to kill any remaining bacteria and viruses.
